Role Play (Unite 1-5)

A: Hi! Do you want to go to karaoke with us? It will be fun!

B: Mmm I don’t know, I feel nervous when someone hands me a microphone, I freeze because I know I'm not a very good singer.

A: That’s strange! I thought that people from the coast were very outgoing

B: Not me! I’m very shy, especially in front of a group of strangers.

A: You should be more self confident and not get nervous in social situations.

B: Was it easy for you to sing the first time you went to karaoke?

A: For me it was very easy, I like to sing! But now that you mention it, some of my friends were very shy the first time they went. Maybe you could have one or two drinks before singing.

B: Yeah, one or two beers might help... ok I’m going.

A: Great!!

B: But could you tell me what should I wear? Because I have never been in a karaoke before.

A: Nothing special or elegant it could be something casual like jeans whit a t-shirt.


B: Cool! because i dont like to wear elegant or flashy clothes. You know what bug me about this places. When people smoke inside and dont care other peoples health.


A: I really dont mind because i smoke too, but i think that for people who dont smoke it should be annoying.


B: I think that people who smoke should either smoke outside or dont smoke at all.


A: Its difficult to change that in the country, but i know some places where is forbiden.

A: Hi! How was your vacation trip. Did you have a good time in Cancún?

B: Yes, I did, everything was I expected, and more. How about you, did you go anywhere?

A: Yes, I spent a week in Buenos Aires I'm thinking about getting a job there.

B: Mmm Buenos Aires is a such a wonderful city! You’ll really enjoy living there.

A: Mmm... I’m not so sure, but I hope so.

B: Why you aren’t sure about it?

A: Because in spite of the friendly people, it really gets me that some parts of the city are full of garbage and I cant understand why. However, I think I would never get use to it.

A: Do you know that Beethoven said that his music expressed what was inside of him and that he had no choice but to compose ?

B: No, I didn’t know that, he must be such a gifted composer.

Wise: Have knowledge about all kind of things.

A: Andres has been studing all the weekend.

B: Yes he always do the same.

A: I think he is a very wise man
